I am awe-struck by Bob Marley’s idealistic words that follow, expressing his feelings on true love…I embrace his vision and echo his romantic sentiment completely. Unfortunately my past judgement was faulty and what I believed to be true love with my “soul mate” turned out to be a figment of my imagination…remnants of a shattered dream, an all-encompassing, strategically constructed illusion borne from a naiively naked heart. My vulnerable, unsuspecting, foolish heart was brutally victimized by a hungry wolf; I was mesmerized, captivated by a poseur draped in sheepskin. If it seems too good to be true, stay vigilant and hold on tightly to your innocence, to your precious heart; for when the planets are aligned, the soulmate will appear, and all that is you, and all that you are, will be revealed.
In the meantime, be the change you wish to see, live and teach by example of kindness and compassion; Love everyone, but trust only in yourself, as you eternally bask in the warm glow of spiritual self-love.

Ideally, “only once in your life” will you experience true love, as described in the revealing words of Bob Marley:

“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.” ~ BOB MARLEY

Live each day like it’s your last…it just might be! Your lifetime of choices become your legacy, regardless of the amount of material or length of time you amass during your temporary human experience.

Be authentic in all your actions and interactions…Follow your heart but do so mindfully…Choose Compassion over Apathy…Be Kind to yourself and others…Love Unconditionally…Be Fully Present for all of Life’s experiences, accepting all without attaching meaning or preference to any one in particular – Life is a series of sequential moments, each one unique and fleeting; as one passes, another silently follows…
Above all else, Always DO YOU! Make Choices that enable your experience of Manifest Happiness and lessen your experience of Suffering. YOU are the only one who can choose and control your Thoughts, Attitudes, Feelings and Actions. YOU are the Reality Architect – YOU create your personal Reality!

If you choose wisely and live your life authentically…mindfully…humbly, then there will never be a reason for regret. Do not postpone matters of the heart -they are of the utmost importance…do not leave positive sentiment or loving words unsaid, as you may not get another chance to convey them…do not express negative, hurtful sentiment or criticism as you may never get a chance to apologize…Words wield power…they can never be retracted once uttered…they linger in the mind and heart like a moldy scent…their effects echo for eternity, a repetitive loop of cutting edge sound replayed in one’s memory like a broken record.

It’s ultimately your choice…why not start creating a legacy of Love today?

HAPPY NEW YEAR my dear friends and global family:

As we reflect on the passing year and anticipate a fresh beginning in 2013, let us allow our own true essence to shine, as well as embrace one another’s inherent Divinity and Innocence. There is a simple solution to a complex multitude of problems. Be kind to one another…Treat others how you want to be treated…Give Unconditional Love freely and be receptive to Unconditional Love…Forgive yourself and others…Let Go of past mistakes. May 2013 usher in a new era based on our Commonality rather than our Differences, our Strengths rather than our Weaknesses, and our Unity rather than our Division. May this (R)Evolutionary Quickening, or Planetary Awakening as One, inspire more people to embrace their divine nature and reflect the qualities they espouse and expect in others. Only through balance of word and deed, will we transcend the hypocrisy inherent in a judgmental society. May the recent planetary shift in Awareness raise the vibrational level and collective consciousness of the masses accordingly to meet the mounting challenges of a rapidly growing population in a self-destructive world of depleting resources. May the prospects of a New Beginning inspire more people to “Be The Change,” to help their fellow Earthlings, human or animal, whenever possible, to feel gratitude for what is often taken for granted, and “Pay it Forward” in kind with Love and Compassion for All Sentient Beings… For we are all ONE.
In fact, We are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For.
One World ~ ♥ One Love Eternal ♥

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Wishing you moments of Peace, Love, Light & Laughter every day of your life! I LOVE YOU! ~ Lisa

Familiarity breeds Contempt, as well as Apathy. Apathy is a chronic, contagious, life-threatening disease that spreads quickly and quietly, a progressive plague of epic proportions, striking fear in the hearts of those few who are immune to the effects of its deadening poison. Like a wild fire in the wind, airborne pollutants spewing haphazardly, so are the infectious germs of Apathy out of control, a conflagration of random mutations, growing and multiplying. Without quarantine or containment, “Apathy Gone Viral” breeds and enslaves the ideal host from which Bullies germinate, infect and feed. An ongoing cycle of recontamination ensures a grim prognosis, as Bullying continues to flourish, thrive and victimize. Like the Phoenix rising forth from the ashes, so is the Bully empowered by the smoldering embers of Apathy. Victims are a natural by-product of Apathy, as well. Whether Bully or Victim, each is grown from the same seed. Apathy is the seed, that mutates into Bully or Victim. Apathy is the germ, that must be eradicated from the environment, that human beings must be vaccinated against, in order to put an end to this horrific epidemic called BULLYING. We must arrest this plague before it claims more hearts, minds and lives of our young, promising leaders of tomorrow and benefactors of the future.

Recently I read an article in the Huffington Post about introducing the practice of Meditation into the schools. I think this measure would be the single most important step taken in education to ensure our children enter adulthood as well-adjusted, compassionate, enlightened beings, equipped to face the challenges of a turbulent, fast-paced, rapidly changing world and its uncertain future. Especially
with the prevalence of bullying and peer pressure in the schools, negativity is infecting the hearts and minds of today’s youth, tomorrow’s leaders. Meditation is a positive activity that will enable students to rise above the negativity and accept experience for what it is: temporary, fleeting, impermanent…while their essence or core remains calm, grounded and untouched. Rather than reacting emotionally they will learn to pause, reflect and respond mindfully. They will become stronger, healthier individuals, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Meditation is not religious or patriotic in any way…it does not represent any subsection of society or culture…it is accessible by and available to everyone equally.

Instead of judging people while doing nothing to contribute in a positive way to our community and our planet, we can take responsibility, as a world citizen of planet Earth and a member of our community, to alleviate suffering of our fellow man/woman/animal in some way. We can advocate for justice or humane treatment, donate our time or money to human service work, vote in elections, offer a kind word or a sympathetic ear to the depressed and downtrodden…the options are infinite in number and varied in kind, but making negative judgments of others is clearly not among these constructive efforts! It’s called Empathy folks…if you don’t got it, then get it! Put yourself in the shoes of the other person, walk a virtual mile in their shoes, before passing judgment of any kind. In fact, don’t judge…it serves no purpose whatsoever. It is actually harmful and destructive to humanity as a collective conscious entity and disruptive to our divine harmony with Universe and Source/God. Think about it…

The world needs Change. There is no question about that. The “Whys” are obvious and numerous. We can argue back and forth about the “What” since people’s values and priorities may differ based on their quality of life. But the million dollar question that keeps politicians, activists and anyone who truly cares about the state of our planet up at night is “How?” HOW do we affect change? HOW do we implement change of any real substance or staying power (longevity.) To quote The Beatles: “You say you want a Revolution? Well you know, we all want to change the world.”
A Revolution does not have to be marked by chaos, violence and power. Silence can be Revolutionary. Love can be Revolutionary. Spirituality can be Revolutionary. We must find peaceful, non-violent means to revolutionize and change things in this world, to change the status quo so as to improve life conditions for anyone living a sub-standard life (i.e. homeless, poverty, no medical care, unemployment, no clean water, hunger etc.) as well as ensure the humane treatment of all God’s creatures, man or animal. Remember, the Change Begins With Me and You. An internal revolution of thought and spirit must take place within each one of us before we can make any significant changes affecting the outside world. Each of us operates at a state of consciousness, awakened by our stage of spiritual evolution at the time. Although many of humanity live their life unconsciously most of the time, we, as members of the human race, as human beings, are surely evolving as both enlightened individuals and as a collective consciousness on Earth. Our inner transformation is reflected in the world we live in, through our thoughts, ideas, words, and actions that represent our unity of purpose on a spiritual as well as a global level. The Revolution has begun…get with the program and be a part of One Love – One World. WE are surely the Ones We Have Been Waiting For…

I am not quite there yet, but it is my goal. For now, I am anti-cruelty and Vegetarian with a strong belief in and leaning toward becoming Vegan. I am anti-fur and anti-leather, although I am ashamed to admit I still own leather at this point. I am against animal experimentation of any kind and for any
reason. I am absolutely against murder, which includes hunting. If a preposterous justification such as over-population is used to condone hunting, then why not start by culling the over-population of humans and the unwanted children awaiting adoption or living in poverty or starvation. That should reduce the need for building on conservation land or forest land. Make sense? I didn’t think so. Case Closed on Hunting as a means to “Cull the Population” of deer or any other living creature. Live and Let Live. We are all God’s creatures and as divine beings we equally deserve to be treated with compassion and live free from suffering at the hands of others. This applies universally and unconditionally to all sentient beings including animals!. Let’s evolve as a human race and let Peace, Love and Harmony reign supreme.

As you begin to see with the eyes of God, you start to realize that people’s anger and hatred and cruelty come from their own pain and suffering. As we begin to see their words and behavior as simply the acting out of their suffering, we can have compassion for them. We no longer feel attacked by them, and we can begin to see the light of God shining in them. And then we begin to look for the light of God in people…”
God Has A Dream by Desmond Tutu
