True Love (Innocence Lost?) (revised 2/18/13)

I am awe-struck by Bob Marley’s idealistic words that follow, expressing his feelings on true love…I embrace his vision and echo his romantic sentiment completely. Unfortunately my past judgement was faulty and what I believed to be true love with my “soul mate” turned out to be a figment of my imagination…remnants of a shattered dream, an all-encompassing, strategically constructed illusion borne from a naiively naked heart. My vulnerable, unsuspecting, foolish heart was brutally victimized by a hungry wolf; I was mesmerized, captivated by a poseur draped in sheepskin. If it seems too good to be true, stay vigilant and hold on tightly to your innocence, to your precious heart; for when the planets are aligned, the soulmate will appear, and all that is you, and all that you are, will be revealed.
In the meantime, be the change you wish to see, live and teach by example of kindness and compassion; Love everyone, but trust only in yourself, as you eternally bask in the warm glow of spiritual self-love.

Ideally, “only once in your life” will you experience true love, as described in the revealing words of Bob Marley:

“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.” ~ BOB MARLEY

The Awakening

Blinded by a stream of light, I rubbed my eyes til my gaze softened and my vision returned…Thundering Silence echoed all around me, glazing over my senses like wax, mind-numbing but beckoning me closer, like the allure of the Sirens’ sweet song of seduction. A warm glow engulfed my being and enveloped my soul, cradling me gently like a newborn babe. “Am I awake or am I dreaming?” I heard my Self say. This must be Heaven, I responded. At that moment “I”, the Awakened One, separated from my sleep-walking “Self”, finally shedding the dream-induced “Ego” that had enslaved me for a thousand life-times in the Matrix of Virtual Reality. ~

The Grand Design

There are no “mistakes,” “accidents” or “coincidences” in life…everything happens for a reason and at precisely the “right” moment, although we may think or feel otherwise. Every person that we encounter on our experiential path is a blessing placed before us to enrich or enhance our experience of life, often in ways unbeknownst to us. It is all part of the “Grand Design.” We are the tools or instruments of design, but we are not the architects. There is but one architect, we are entrusted to follow His blueprint, without question. But that does not mean we have no influence on the process; on the contrary, we determine the quality of God’s creation with our choices. Our effort, motivation and intention provide insurance of our resilience, as we will weather the toughest of storms while maintaining our integrity, solid structure and inner beauty. Regardless of how much superficial damage we endure, WE ENDURE! WE SURVIVE! And so do our memories. So LIVE, LOVE and LAUGH–because this is it baby! The stage has been set, and you are up now for your 15 minutes of fame. Play it for all it’s worth!

Divine Intent: An Untapped Power Source of Creative Inspiration

The Pristine Beauty Of Nature inspires me and instills in me a sense of awe and inner peace. At the same time, the majestic mountains remind me of the raw power of Creation in all its glory. As a miraculous creation of God, I am energized by the same power of creation that nature is charged with. I express my power creatively, through my thoughts and words and, ultimately, my actions. The results of my creativity are no less spectacular and diverse than God’s creations. The possibilities are endless. Just as God breathed Life into his carefully crafted Diorama of Existence, I must breathe Love into all that I create, all that I Am. As air is necessary to existence, LOVE is needed to LIVE. LOVE transforms ordinary creation into extraordinary miracle, infusing the monochrome, monotone sketch of Reality with vibrant color and sonic vibrations that reverberate and reflect the light of universal consciousness.

Scared Shy

Shyness is an awkwardness inside, that stems from our lack of confidence or our self-doubts… basically our paralyzing fears, which hold us back from life in so many ways.  The good news is WE CAN OVERCOME OUR FEARS!  We can change our perceptions, and in turn, our reality, with mindful practice, self-awareness, self-affirmations, and consciously thinking through our fears so we realize they are either irrational or, if they are rational, they are certainly not as catastrophic as we imagine them to be.  We need to take social risks in order to fully participate in life and embrace its beauty.  When all is said and done, the worst that can happen is we start back at “square one” again, no worse than before, but possibly better!!

Return to Innocence: The Deprogramming Starts Here

When we are young, life is a never-ending adventure. We take risks, throwing caution to the wind, as we seek fun in every experience. As adults we tend to be more cynical and “practical” constantly worrying bout the future (which we cannot control) and perseverating on the past (which we cannot change, hold onto or recreate). As children, we lived each moment, in the moment, always in the present. We looked at the world with eyes wide open with wonder, opportunity revealed itself in every experience as we explored and discovered our environment, our bodies, nature, creatures, objects… We embraced adventure and stimulation in our frivolous pursuit of fun. We were precocious, idealistic, naiive, trusting, fearless, innocent, unconditioned…each of us lost these child-like qualities in one way or another, at one time or another, through our experiences and social conditioning. Born into this world with a clean slate, devoid of precognitions and prejudices, we gradually developed a personality and habits, imprinting mental and emotional schemas, through social programming and mass indoctrination of ideas. After years of social experience these thoughts, feelings and attitudes have become so deeply ingrained in us, we believe they reflect our true essence. In actuality we couldn’t be further from our “authentic selfs.” We have difficulty letting go of or changing our etched patterns…we cling tightly to our egos because we no longer know who we really are! We have lost our “selfs” along the way! Born Human “BE-ings,” we “morphed” into Human “DO-ings.” Now, as adults, we adopt various roles to play, masks to wear, and tasks to accomplish. We identify and define ourselves with these self-stick labels (I.E. I am a grandfather, I am a son, I build houses, I am a teacher, I go to church…) We go through the motions, stumbling blindly through life, feeling disconnected and fragmented, unsatisfied and unimpressed. Why do we continue on this path when we can change direction and alter our life course at any time?

Life can be so much more! We need to return to our essence, revisit our inner child, view the world through new eyes, or actually old eyes…the eyes God gifted us with at birth in order to see all the beauty and wonder around us. Open up your eyes and your heart to the miracle of LIFE!! It is never too late to chase a rainbow or follow a dream!! To laugh that deep belly laugh that arises from deep in your being!! To twirl faster and faster til you fall to the grass, grinning from ear to ear, blissful, dizzy, as you watch the world spin around you!

Now, before you click “like” & get back to practical “matters of consequence,” why not take a life-altering step by “establishing ties” with that of an ephemeral nature, and in turn you will experience meaningful connection that is eternal. You do, indeed, reap what you sow.

If you truly want to awaken your senses and experience the extraordinary, I recommend you read “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It was required reading in my high-school Psychology class, and it opened my eyes, heart and mind in a way I never thought possible, that I can’t even begin to explain. It is a quick read, but as a philosophical analysis, it has many deep layers of meaning and Universal Truths which will draw you back in to re-read and re-analyze the many lessons it imparts. I guarantee you will enjoy it if you were ever a child, and if you have any childhood memories you will most certainly relate to this sweet tale of innocence.

I Create, Therefore I Am…

Happiness is a by-product of Creativity, or Creative Process. All Creation is Beauty (whether creator or created, the source or the muse). Happiness can not exist without the creative process, any more than life can exist without the creative process of Breathing. Many creative people such as artists, writers, painters, poets, dancers seem to live in misery. However, in reality, the human condition by default is one of misery and suffering. Through creativity one may transcend humanness, the human aspects of self, mainly the ego, and become self-less. Only through Creativity and Meditation can one who is alive return to the source, merging with the universe and all creation on a vibrational level. At that level there is no misery, no judgments, no attachments…at that level there is only Harmony, or Oneness. I am You, I am God, I am Universe, I am the vibration of highest frequency, I am LOVE.
